Simon & Gizmo

Our planned blog for the day is suspended, our hearts are truly not in it today.

Our beautiful friend Simon from the Fleas Blog has been reunited with his sweet sister Shelley at the Rainbow Bridge.

The Fleas Blog was the first DogBlog we started to read, the reason we found and joined DWB, the inspiration so to speak.
For that reason Simon, Shelley and Scarlett have always held a very special place in our hearts. A little bit of our hearts left with Scarlett and now a little of our hearts are leaving with Simon.
Jason, Judy and Shelley we are so sorry, we will miss your little fella so much and our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with you.

Godspeed to the bridge dear Simon, and your reunion with sweet Scarlett.

EDITED TO ADD...

We didn't think today could get any sadder, but now we have had the news that Deetzy's brother Gizmo has also left us for the bridge.
Gizmo was a tiny dog with the heart of a lion and though we didn't know him long he touched our lives hugely, his last post was the most moving post we have ever read.

We promised Gizmo we wouldn't cry when the time came, Sorry buddy but we have let you down.

Godspeed lil Man .. you will be missed.

This is just so very sad.
He is with his sissy now, running and playing, free from the cares and pains of this world.

We just came from their blog. We can't believe it either. Always a sad sad day when one of our buddies moves on. Makes you feel lucky for what you've got in this world, you know?

Ben,
My mom has a DUMB question. On the NowZad site it has a link to Paypal, but it only in pounds - how do we convert to dollars??? (Or do we even need to?)

Your pal,

My mum promised she wouldn't cry either but I see her leaking and whimpering alot since Gizmo left us yesterday. It was a most painful drive and even more painful to let him go. Thank you for your post. I wouldn't wish this pain on anyone, but I know we have all gone through it at one time or another and it never gets easy. I hope Gizmo finds Bridge Boy Ben...its a small world afterall isn't it? They were born the same year and month, I too only wish you could have had more time. I will go over to the fleas gang. Thank you my dear friend
for being there for us

Ben,
Thanks for stopping by my blog. It is a sad day and we also have leaky eyes at our house. It is nice to have others to share your feelings.

Ben (and family),

You are the best. We just wanted you to know. "We"--I just noticed that I can't refer to the kids as "we" anymore :-( In any case, thank you and everydoggie for such kind thoughts and wishes. It really, really does make it bearable.

Yeah, we failed the no cry clause for Deetz too. We didn't know Simon but when we heard the other day we dropped over and left his family a message. It is always sad when one leaves.

Sorry to hear about your friends. That's enough bad news for one day, universe, you can stop now.

I know, Ben, it was heartbreaking to read about all the doggies passing to the bridge last week and how sad their people were to see them go. But they're here at the bridge with me, laughing, playing and waiting to reunite with their loved ones.
