RSPCA and Puppy Trafficking Awareness

A little while ago a lovely lady called Jayne contacted me. She is currently working with the RSPCA to highlight their Give Animals a Voice campaign.

Jayne asked me if I would promote the campaign and include a infograph that illustrates what questions to ask when buying from a breeder.

The campaign is working hard to highlight the puppy trafficking business and the consequential welfare issues that arise from it. I am of course very happy to add my voice and support to this campaign.

You can watch a short video and sign up to the global campaign to show support HERE

We can help make a difference, we CAN have a voice.

Hi Ben
Good work - we HATE what is happening with puppy farming!!!
People certainly need to be more aware of what is going on.
Have a good day.
love & kisses

The check list is a start but many more questions should be asked.

My parents were fooled but it doesn't impact how much they love me.

Every summer there seems to be a rash of dog-nappings in the Village. People tie up their pets to go into a restaurant or grocery store and someone steals it. So sad to see those posters. Mommy always keeps a close eye on me and fortunately, I can go in most shops and sit outside with her at cafes.

Are puppy mills as big a problem in the UK as they are here? I was born in Kansas (where there are lots of mills) and bought at a pet store (frowned upon, but BOY are we happy Mommy paid my bail!) so I suspect I may have come from a puppy mill. Mommy's never been able to locate the "kennel" I came from that's listed on my papers.

Petey

Morning Cuss, My mum as checked it out and will pass it on to folks. Mums friend has been caught out by puppy breeders, she got a king charles which has so many problems and has already had several operations in his short life.

So sad puppy farms and people who breed in cages in garages. Just to sell the pups. More and more defects are bred into them.
Lets hope it can be stopped one day soon.

Great public service announcement, Ben. Unfortunately, Dave took part of your post literally and won't stop wooing. Something about having a voice. I think I'm going to go stick my head under the chair.

Thank you for that great checklist.
Even breeders who show their doggies at Westminster aren't always good. My Beautiful Raja came from champions but her hips were so awful that she crossed over the bridge far too soon.

When Momma and Master were looking for a puppy, Raja's breeder wanted to hand one over to them at a rest stop and got all huffy when they said they would want to actually meet and get to know the pup first. Needless to say, I came from a different breeder.

Its hard for the peoples not to let their emotions get in the way sometimes.

Excellent work on the puppy farming issue. It needs to be brought out into the open.

Please thank your Queen for knighting Senator Teddy Kennedy. She is a real pip to honor Teddy like that. He has spent his career in government being a voice for the voiceless and a champion for those in dire need. We yanks really appreciate the Queen doing this.

Hey...how's Cruft's coming along. We heard that the PETA people got it banned from the telly. Now show dogs are being spotlighted for poor breeding practices. Oh dear. I am one of those but I am as royally bred as the Queen!

Ben. Well done you and your Mommy. Tip lovely Jane off, she needs to go that Horrids place. Mom was OUTRAGED to see they were selling puppies when she visited the pets department. 3 different litters and NO MOMS with ANY of them. Selling them for £1500 each!!!!!!Little Lorenza's.

She went to complain but two families with young kids were buying and she felt not right to say in front of them. They took the puppy away there and then...can you imagine???? Out of order big time. Probably legit and not puppy farmed but can't be from from a reputable breeder can they?
She's going to complain BIG time next time. You may hear her!!!

We are off to sign up right now. Good work Ben.

Wiry wags, Eric xx
